SYN STO PLIN

 Συν στο  Πλην” is a unique antipoverty program with a dual mission: intervention providing assistance and relief to the homeless with the operation of Day Centers, and prevention of homelessness, supporting Greek families with children, assisting the return of the households to a level of self sufficiency as per before the crisis.

SOCIAL STRUCTURES CONFRONTING POVERTY IN ATHENS MUNICIPALITY

PRAKSIS - in collaboration with KLIMAKA (Development Carrier for Human Exclusion), as coordinator, the Municipality of Athens, DOCTORS OF THE WORLD and EQUAL SOCIETY (Society for Equal Opportunities), and within the framework of the relevant Act entitled "Social Structures tackling poverty in Athens Municipality" which is co-financed by the European Social Fund - is involved in the operation of a Social Network. In this context PRAKSIS enhances the functionality of the Day Center for Homeless which has been operating since May 2012. The Center is located in the center of Athens (26-28 Deligiorgi Street, 4th Floor, tel. 210 5244574) and is funded by Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

SOCIAL STRUCTURES CONFRONTING POVERTY IN THESSALONIKI MUNICIPALITY

PRAKSIS - in collaboration with ARSIS (Social Organization for the Support of Youth) as coordinator, and Thessaloniki Municipality - participates in a Social Network Structure under the Act entitled "Social Structures tackling poverty in the Thessaloniki municipality" which is co-financed by the European Social Fund. In this context PRAKSIS enhances the implementation of a Social Pharmacy (operating since 2004) at Thessaloniki Polyclinic (1 Arkadioupoleos & St. Demetrius Street) and also the operation of an Open Day Center for the Homeless in Thessaloniki Municipality.

In Athens Solidarity Center framework, PRAKSIS implements two programs:

Medical Service Extended which is an extension of medical services and the pharmacy, provided the Polyclinic of PRAKSIS.

Employability Center where free support for unemployed is provided by job seeking services.

 Who we are

PRAKSIS Business Coaching Center functions as a support center for the selected candidates offering training, coaching and consulting in order to help people materialize their entrepreneurial goals. The program provides comprehensive practical training and preparation so that the candidate will be able to compose a conclusive business plan, which will ensure in the best possible way the viability of his business.

The methodology used incorporates international trends in business models with the reality of the Greek market. More specifically, the BCC supports participants by offering training, development of personal skills (coaching) and advisory (consulting), to help them reach their business goals and create a small business.

Participants are selected through a rigorous process, which is designed to ensure:
• The viability of the business idea
• The social and economic impact of the business idea
• The persistence and determination exhibited by the individual at the prospect of becoming a freelancer

For the time period from August 2016 to January 2018 the Praksis Business Coaching Center is funded by the Citi Foundation.

In Greece the economic crisis reversed the daily routine of many people, bringing it faces intense livelihood problems, the PRAKSIS BCC aims to help people who have the vision, perseverance, dedication and ability to 'try' and they want a powerful ally in achieving this goal. With a skill development program based on the individual needs of each participant, the ultimate goal is to start or restart a small or medium enterprise.

PEDIATRIC CLINIC OF ATHENS

The Pediatric Clinic operates for children – members of vulnerable groups that face social and economic exclusion and lack of access to health services. Pediatric examination and treatment of acute health issues is provided - including medical referrals where necessary - monitoring of chronic cases, as well as issuing individual health cards to pupils. Vaccination is carried out on a monthly basis.

STEGI PLUS (+)

The programme covers the operation of Accommodation Centres in Athens and Patras, which provide various services such as housing, psychosocial and prime medical support, legal counseling, employment support (to adults) and training and intercultural and recreational activities to unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable groups of asylum seekers such as single-parent families, vulnerable women, victims of torture etc.

"PRAKSIS Π" - Accommodation Center for Unaccompanied Minors

The programme "PRAKSIS Π" refers to the operation of Accommodation Center aiming to provide housing and services to unaccompanied minors. The program is a result of the cooperation between the Ministry for Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, J. L. Foundation (funding) and PRAKSIS (implementation). Its capacity is 24 beds and focus point of the project is the inclusion of the beneficiaries (boys 8-18) in the society and that is why special emphasis has been given in relevant activities.

EFODIA ZOIS, VIMATA ZOIS

PRAKSIS and ROCHE Hellas launch the 2-year program «Εφόδια Ζωής, Βήματα Ζωής», providing support to the educational needs of more than 400 children. The program targets those families suffering from the results of the severe economic crisis.

MOBILE MEDICAL UNITS

Since January 2015, more than 500,000 refugees and migrants have crossed the Mediterranean Sea. Within the framework of this refugee crisis of unprecedented scale, PRAKSIS NGO, through funding by INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CORPS NGO, has been implementing the project titled MEDICAL MOBILE UNITS since October 2015.
