PRAKSIS appointed as national focal point to EuroHRN
The European Harm Reduction Network (EuroHRN) has been recently formed by ten organisations with a shared interest in advocating for and sharing knowledge on harm reduction within Europe. It is made up of three sub-regional networks covering North, South and Eastern Europe and managed by a coordinator based at the International Harm Reduction Association.
In the scope of this initiative, APDES is the lead organization of the South Europe Sub-Regional Network with the support of AFR (France), where are included the countries from the South (Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus, Italy). In each country, the EuroHRN counts with the representation of a Focal Point, an NGO who can function as contact and reference point in their respective country. The focal points can be approached from time to time to provide country specific information, to mediate to other experts in the field and to cooperate in the development of specific project activities.
APDES has appointed PRAKSIS as national focal point concerning Greece. We are fully aware of the responsibilities emerged by this invitation. At the same time we do appreciate this movement as it provides us with the opportunity to collaborate in a closest way with the EuroHRN. Harm Reduction interventions are very delicate issues and not always easy to implement due to burocratic, economic or political reasons. Under this frame we feel that EuroHRN will be very supportive to all key factors such as institutions, experts and civil society.
